Salt Cay is located to the southwest of Grand Turk and is rich in historyand is in fact it is a living museum.
Little has changed since 1962 when the salt industry last flourished.
The ruins of the salinas used during the once thriving salt trade can still be seen. Only a few people are resident here and there are few cars as golf carts are are often the transportation choice.
Salt Cay is a scuba divers' paradise.

Salt Cay
expansive salt pans, working windmills and donkeys and chickens roaming the streets, make this tiny island a museum of the nation's heritage. The narrow streets here are lined with small Bermudian and colonial style houses, now being renovated and preserved.
There are beaches on the north and south shores and the island is generally flat with salt ponds in the middle. . Belfour town is the hub of the island and at one time had a population of over 1,000. January, February and March of each year is humpback whale watching for many of the tourists. Diving is beautiful and the tranquility and charm of the island make it a wonderful getaway. Only a few properties come up for sale on the island and generally sell quite quickly. A world class course course is being planned for this island which will help further development for this tiny and unique island paradise.
